CONFESSION:

I would have loved to hear some of the dialogue Merrill could have had with the companions from Inquisition, and it bothers me so much that I never will

Wouldn’t it have made SO MUCH SENSE, though, for the character who spent a game focused on an eluvian, who spent much of her life attempting to preserve elven knowledge, who was an apprentice to a Dalish Keeper, so this is her life’s work, to have been not just tied into the eluvian plot (red herring as it ended up being) but the elven temple of Mythal?!

Still bitter about this. Merrill has more right to the story Morrigan had in Inquisition, because it’s the heritage she’s embraced since her birth. If they HAD to have Morrigan there (and they DIDN’T - they could have had someone remark about an eluvian or speak some elvish, and Varric could bring up that, hey, he knows this person who’s very familiar with eluvians), then she should have been working in cooperation with Merrill, not in isolation.
